On the 27th of September, for the 2019 edition of the European Researchers’ Night, the Frascati National Laboratories organized for the first time, at the initiative of the Scientific Information and Dissemination Service, a special scientific event addressed to children and relatives of the LNF and AC employees.
The event involved very small children from the age of 3 years, but also under-14 kids, that participated to activities designed ad hoc for them by LNF researchers.
For the little ones (3-6 years) an exceptional creative workshop was realized in the particle accelerator DAFNE, which had been opened and specifically prepared to host this extraordinary experimental activity.
Children aged from 7 to 10 years, instead, took part to a hands-on laboratory on pressure. Moreover, a fun educational atelier on electricity was set up for children between the ages of 11 and 14. No lessons, just physics proposed in an inclusive and amusing formula.
The initiative, highly appreciated by the kids, was welcomed by the employees too, for the attention given to their families as well as the opportunity to share with their loved ones the places they work every day. Furthermore, it was a chance to send out an important message among the colleagues: the willingness to work together on a good communication, encouraging everyone’s involvement and participation in the activities promoted by the Laboratories. A successful experiment that will be repeated in the future for more and more thrilling projects.
