Frascati, March 30th – April 3rd , 2020

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the…Universe

In 2020 the INSPYRE School celebrates 10 years since its very first edition. During these years we arrived from 20 participants to about 100, and many INSPYRED ones are now physicists, engineers, biologists, even lawyers and economists. We INSPYREd them, but they also INSPYREd us! This 2020 INSPYRE School is a very special event and we would like to celebrate it with you – our INSPYREd 2020 ones!

The 2020 Edition of INSPYRE – INternational School on modern PhYsics and Research, “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the…Universe’”, is dedicated to the hottest topics and challenges in Modern Physics, from particles to cosmology. We’ll guide you in a fantastic journey from quarks to black holes, from gravity and quantum physics to quantum technologies, and much more! Surprises will not be missing!

During our fantastic journey through the Universe, you, the young 2020 INSPYRED ones, participants, will be involved in a series of hands-on experiments of modern physics realized for and with you by us, the researchers. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit the main experiments and accelerator facilities at LNF.

The School is open to about 100 students in their last two years of high school coming from all over the world – being also an occasion to establish long lasting friendships. English is the official language of the school.

The activity is free of charge; however, participants should provide for travel, accommodation and dinner expenses (lunch is offered at the canteen by LNF).

Get ready – we are looking forward to INSPYRE you, and get INSPYRED by you!

INSPYRE 2020 is organized with the participation and support of:

European Physical Society

Foundational Questions

Institute Societa’ Italiana di Fisica, SIF

Museo Storico della Fisica e Centro Studi e Ricerche Enrico Fermi

Nuclear Physics European Collaboration Committee

In order to participate, high-schools should apply filling this FORM.
Application deadline extended to February 15th, 2020 . There are still some seats available for foreign schools.
Because of the high number of applications, only 2 students will be accepted per school and selection will work on a first come first served basis.

The LNF Communication and Scientific Education Office will contact the schools selected in order to define the details for their participation.
