The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the…Universe

In 2020 the INSPYRE School celebrates 10 years since its very first edition. During these years we arrived from 20 participants to about 100, and many INSPYRED ones are now physicists, engineers, biologists, even lawyers and economists. We INSPYREd them, but they also INSPYREd us! This 2020 INSPYRE School is a very special event and we would like to celebrate it with you – our INSPYREd 2020 ones! The 2020 Edition of INSPYRE – INternational School on modern PhYsics and Research, “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the…Universe’”, is dedicated to the hottest topics and challenges in Modern Physics, from particles to cosmology. We’ll guide you in a fantastic journey from quarks to black holes, from gravity and quantum physics to quantum technologies, and much more!

This year the Scholl will be organized online, on a virtual platform, from the 30th of March to the 3rd of April and will contain a series of lectures.
The lectures are scheduled in the mornings from 10:30 to 13:30.
Presently we are finalizing our program which you will find in this page.

Connect to our YouTube channel to attend the lectures:
We invite you to involve also your colleagues, teachers and students, to join the event.

Get ready – we are looking forward to INSPYRE you, and get INSPYRED by you!

INSPYRE, national project of the INFN Public Outreach activities, is organized thanks also to the sponsors: Società Italiana di Fisica (SIF), European Physical Society (EPS), FQXi Foundational Questions Institute, Museo Storico della Fisica e Centro Studi e Ricerche Enrico Fermi, Nuclear Physics European Collaboration Committee (NUPECC) and Strong 2020.

The online lectures are realized thanks to the support of the media partner Frascati Scienza.

March 5th

Dear participants to INSPYRE 2020, the Hitchhikers’ guide to the Universe,

due to the current Covid-19 emergency, this edition of the School will not take place as initially scheduled gathering all of you in Frascati but we are working to organize it online in the same period, namely from the 30th of March to the 3rd of April.

We promise you we will do our best to make this 10th edition as exciting as originally planned even if we cannot host you in person in Frascati. We are working on the preparation of the new version of the program which will contain interactive online lectures on items going from quarks to black holes, from gravity to quantum physics and technologies and also intruducing experiments perfomed to the main experimental facilities of LNF and CERN.

We will still hitchhike you through the Universe and its most exciting features and mysteries.

In this framework we invite you to involve also your colleagues, teachers and students, to join the event.

Stay tuned!
